Humboldt Brewing company was founded in Arcata, California in 1987. They brewed the famous Red Nectar and Hemp Ale until 2000. They then moved the brewing process to Firestone Walker Brewing Company in Paso Robles, California. In 2003, the Humboldt Brewing Company stopped all operations and closed its doors.
In March 2004, Humboldt Brews LLC was established as an employee-owned business. They offer tasty pub-style cuisine, including burgers, fries, steaks, salads and appetizers, using both traditional and original recipes. There are 20 beers on tap, including local micro-brewed selections such as Red Nectar and Hemp Ale.
Humboldt Brewery has live music several nights a week, as well as five flat screen televisions and a large projector for the optimum sports-viewing experience. They offer the following weekly specials: Mon: Imperial Pint Night "Big pints, little prices."; Tues: Taster Tuesday "10 tasters for $8"; Wed: Wing Wednesday "2 lbs. for $13.50"; Thurs: Thirsty Thursday "$2.50 off select pitchers".
Hours Open: Mon-Wed: Noon-Midnight; Thurs-Sat: Noon-2:00 a.m.; Sun: 10:00 a.m.- 9:00 p.m.

In 2007 Humboldt Brewery had a major building remodel and revamped their menu to bring a higher caliber of locally grown food choices.
