Damnation Creek Trail

Damnation Creek Trail

This short day hike, with an exceptional change in elevation, courses through virgin redwood forests in its upper reaches. Moving down through this diverse ecosystem containing Sitka Spruce, Douglas Fir, Red Alder, giant ferns, and blossoming rhododendrons it would be easy for one to feel immersed in a tropical rain forest. At the bottom of the trail lies a remote, rocky shoreline best accessed at low tide. After absorbing the surroundings at the trail's terminus, the long hike back up to the parking area will prove to be the most strenuous part of the journey.
