The Bolinas Ridge Trail, popular with hikers and mountain bikers alike, begins on the ridgeline east of the Olema Valley on Sir Francis Drake Blvd. about one-mile from the intersection of Highway One. The trail crosses rolling coastal pastureland, enters redwood groves, and passes through chapparal before its southern trailhead at Alpine Road on Mt. Tamalpais.

From the top of the ridge one has a bird-eye views up and down the San Andreas Rift Zone. In fact, the fault divides the Olema Valley.

Vertical Gain or Loss: 1,750 feet elevation gain
