Bear Basin Butte Fire Lookout and Pierson Cabin - Smith River NRA, Six Rivers National Forest

Experience life at the top of Bear Basin Butte, a remote spot in the wilderness of The Six Rivers National Forest, by staying in a historic fire lookout and a primitive 1930’s style cabin. The cabin has a wood-burning stove, no electricity, no indoor plumbing and no well. The Lookout and Pierson Cabin are rented as a pair and may be reserved for one to four nights between July 1st and September 30th.
The cabin is available off season for walk in guests, no guarantee of vehicle access to the site due to possible snow. Call Smith River NRA office for more information.

Lower Cabin and restroom are ADA compatible.

Nightly Rate or Fee (if any): The rental rate is $75.00 per night for 1 to 8 persons; $5.00 for each additional person. The occupancy maximum is 12 persons.
