Arcata Artisans Cooperative was established in 2003 with 39 local artist members. Since that date the gallery has showcased the arts and crafts of nearly 100 local artists. The gallery is a bright, creative space where creations of all kinds can be viewed and purchased. Upon a visit to the gallery/gift store, customers are greeted by a co-op artist member who can explain details about any of the art displayed from the unique perspective of a working artist. All aspects of gallery staffing and management are undertaken by the cooperative members.

The cooperative carries jewelry, ceramics, paintings, pastels, mixed media, fiber arts, photography, woodworking, mosaics, blown glass, metalworking, lighting, and over 400 styles of greeting cards by gallery artists. Arcata Artisans was named Best Art Gallery and Best Gift Shop in the March 2010 Reader's Choice poll conducted by area newspaper, the Times-Standard.

On the second Friday of each month the gallery participates in Arts! Arcata from 6 to 9 pm. Arts! Arcata is an artwalk that takes place mainly around the Arcata Plaza where the public is invited to stroll through area businesses to view artwork and meet the artists.

Arcata Artisans has a Facebook page where they post the latest news, promotions, and other information.

Seasons Open: Arcata Artisans is open year round, Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 6pm, and Sundays from 12-4

Hours Open: During the winter holidays and through the summer the gallery is also open on Mondays from 10-6

Fees: Open to the public

 ADA Accessibility Notes

 Eco-Friendly Notes
Arcata Artisans re-uses packaging to cut down on waste. Local businesses provide packaging from their wholesale supply orders including boxes and bubble-wrap. All of the artists are sensitive to environmental concerns in the creation of their artwork. Many gallery artists use recycled material in their work.
